AFTER being formally organized in 2014 and successfully represented the country in international competitions, Tchoukball Association of the Philippines (TAP) is now seeking membership with the Philippine Olympic Committee.

As an accredited full member of the International Tchoukball Federation (FITB), an active member of the Asia Pacific Tchoukball Federation (APTBF), and the Southeast Asia Tchoukball Federation (SEATF), TAP has won numerous honors for the country, finishing among the top teams in Asia.

With the effort, its present leadership and a technical committee led by international licensed coaches and referees, TAP has continuously organized local and national competitions regularly.

Through the School of Tomorrow Philippines’ sports program, Tchoukball has reached many parts of the Philippines and has become an annual event in the National Student Convention Athletic Competitions.

Believing in the values of respect, fair play, teamwork and harmony for which Tchoukball was developed, TAP despite financial difficulties and birth pains has continued its commitment to carry on its effort in promoting and developing this value-packed team sport throughout the country.

It will continue to perform its mandate to educate and build young people’s lives through the teaching and practice of the values of Tchoukball, helping them become better citizens of the country.

At present, TAP’s secretary-general Elvie Jamelo sits as a member of the FITB Executive Committee while TAP Board Member lawyer Juliana Carbon was appointed as APTBF Executive Committee member and TAP president Raymund Jamelo as SEATF president in August 2016. (HGD)
