IN the last few days, Ellen Adarna and John Lloyd Cruz were in the center of a couple of unconfirmed news reports.
First, several netizens have reported that Adarna has given birth to a baby boy, a son reportedly fathered by boyfriend Cruz. The son was reportedly born last June 28.
Then another netizen reported that the boy was immediately baptized and that security at the hospital they were in were extra tight.
Throughout all those, the couple have stayed quiet and refused to issue a statement—until yesterday.
Cruz set the record straight in his Instagram account, sharing a screen-capture of a tweet from a national publication, which read: “Ellen Adarna got her son baptized and the hospital security was extra tight.”
“F**k fake news,” Cruz captioned the photo. He also tagged the news outlet that reported the story.
ABS-CBN, in reporting the story, also set the record straight on reports that the network turned down Cruz, who asked to return to work. Cruz was supposedly on an indefinitely leave from his sitcom “Home Sweetie Home.” By last month, Cruz’s name was no longer in the opening credits of the TV show. Piolo Pascual is currently Toni Gonzaga’s love interest.
“ABS-CBN’s doors are always open to John Lloyd, and he will always be a Kapamilya,” the Kapamilya network said in a statement.
