THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) is set to hold a graduation ceremony for 52 newly-trained members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (Swat) Unit.
A recognition ceremony was already held last July 27 for the newly-recruited Swat operatives who are set to complete their training soon.
DCPO spokesperson Senior Inspector Milgrace Driz, in an interview with Superbalita, said the new members of the DCPO's Swat Unit come from the 12 different police precincts in Davao City, and are currently undergoing 45 days of training.
"Ang ilang trainings sulod ni sa 45 days. After ana, mag set na sab mi og time para sa ilang graduation in September, (Their training is 45 days and after that, we will set a time for their graduation sometime in September.)" Driz said.
As part of the graduation ceremony, the new Swat members will showcase their sharpshooting as well as their skills in handling high-risk situations such as hostage-taking and bombing.
This has been the second year that DCPO Director Senior Superintendent Vicente Danao Jr. has organized Swat training seminars to bolster the city’s capability in handling high-profile operations.
