MOTORCYCLE-RIDING gunmen strike anew, this time killing a 34-year-old motorcycle driver who was shot on Km. 15, Purok San Isidro Labrador in Barangay Indangan, Buhangi, Davao City, Thursday evening.
Buhangin police identified the victim as Giovanne Villaflor Caminero of Purok 16 in Panacan.
Police investigation showed that the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m.
Caminero, along with an unidentified companion, arrived at the place of incident onboard his black Yamaha Vega motorcycle. The victim's companion alighted from the motorcycle and made a phone call while the victim waited on his vehicle.
An unidentified man suddenly approached the victim from behind and shot Caminero five times, hitting the victim in different parts of his body.
Caminero was killed on the spot while the gunman fled toward Panacan area onboard a motorcycle, which was driven by another unidentified man. The companion of Caminero, on the other hand, fled to an unknown direction.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) led by Chief Inspector Herman Pansoy conducted investigation and recovered five fired cartridges and a deformed slug from a caliber .45 pistol.
Police are yet to determine the motive of the gunmen and their identity.
Caminero became the 94th victim of shooting incidents since Mayor Rodrigo Duterte took over as mayor last July 1. In December alone, Sun.Star Davao has tallied a total of 18 shooting incidents.
