CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Mayor Edwin Santiago commended the Philippine National Police (PNP) here as he welcomed its new program "I-report mo sa Pulis."
Santiago graced recently the launching of the new citizen-participated drive at the Police Regional Office-Central Luzon at Camp Olivas where the new emergency hotlines, 0998-998-0003 and ireportmosapulis@yahoo.com, aside from the already established police quick response 117, were announced and disseminated to the public.
"This new initiative is very much aligned with our objective of making the City of San Fernando more peaceful and orderly. Together with the Sangguniang Panlungsod (City Council), we are improving the peace and order situation in the city and this program unites all of us," he said.
Earlier, Santiago told Sun.Star Pampanga that the City Council's peace and order committee headed by Councilor Angie Hizon and the San Fernando police have been all-out in the anti-criminality drive and peace and order campaign.
"Recently, we have activated our barangay and citizen anti-drug and crime units, reactivated the Special Weapons and Tactics Team, purchased new vehicles for our police mobile patrols, and concentrated our intelligence funds for our peace and order campaign," he said.
He added that it was along this line that the city's peace and rrder council was the first among the local special bodies to be reconstituted and given priority.
