Chief Superintendent Rudy Lacadin, regional police director, said at least 2,000 motorcycle riders from different riders group from Central Luzon and Metro Manila participated in the said ride for a cause.

The activity started around 7 a.m. from the assembly area in front of the PRO3 parade grounds here, going to their route at Jose Abad Santos Avenue, Layac and Olongapo City where a short program was held at the Driftwood Resort, Olongapo City.

The "Krimenitxt Mo, Aksyon Ko", a 24/7 feedback mechanism involves the participation of the community, media, PRO-3 and local government units. The local radio stations would adopt a "plug-in scheme", promote in their radio programs the plans, programs, and activities of the PNP, disseminate the mobile phone number dedicated for the said project and encourage the public to report any crime incident or report any information that will lead to the identification or arrest of suspects and in return, the radio stations will forward the said reports to the police.

Funds generated from the ride for a cause will be the initial seed money to be utilized for the said anti-criminality project.

Every motorcycle rider paid P500 as registration fee for the activity.

"As we ride for a reason, I enjoin everyone to continuously participate in our campaign against all forms of criminality, and I call out for your dynamic support in order to attain our common endeavor of preserving peace and order in the entire region 3. Sabi nga, pag sama-sama, kayang-kaya!" Lacadin said. (Ric Sapnu)
