P200-M government center to rise in San Simon town

SAN SIMON -- The local government here announced on Monday the plan to build a P200-million government center to further improve the delivery of services to the people of this industrial town.

Mayor Leonora Wong, in her Ulat Sa Bayan, said that plans are on the way for the construction of a government center in Barangay Sto. Nino here.

Wong said that the lot was purchased by the local government unit for P9- million and will be the site for the new municipal hall building, legislative building and local and national offices.

She said that the project which will start next year and will be finished in three to four years.

"This will be a one stop shop to give convenience to our constituents who will transact their businesses and concerns with our office and other offices or agencies in government," Wong said.

Wong added that the old town hall will be converted into a museum to house the pictures of past leaders of the municipality and historical artifacts of the town.

She said that aside from this project the local government unit has completed all its infrastructure projects for 2013 and will finish all projects for 2014.
