MIWD resumes work at diversion road

THE Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD) has resumed its work of laying down the water pipes as approved by the new board of directors after Senate President Franklin M. Drilon gave the go signal to start the works abandoned two years ago by the water district.

City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said he had witnessed the promise of the new board of directors to finish the water pipes laying at the more than two-kilometer stretch of the diversion road to connect with the new business triangle in Mandurriao district.

The water service slated to start before the city hosting of two Ministerial Meetings of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) in September and October 2015.

Mabilog said the expanded water service will serve the areas in Mandurriao, Molo and Arevalo districts and the MIWD assured that there will be water before the Apec.
