Actress Isabel Granada passes away

ISABEL Granada passed away on Sunday, November 5 (Manila time), about two weeks after collapsing in Doha, Qatar. She was 41.

Arnel Cowley, husband of Granada, confirmed the unfortunate news in an official statement on his Facebook account.

"It is with great sadness that my wife Isabel Granada has peacefully passed away here in Doha, Qatar," he posted.

Cowley described the actress as a "fantastic wife, mother and daughter".

"She always did her best in everything she did, whether it be in front of a camera or sports."

He thanked the Filipino community in Doha for the support they have given their family during this difficult time.

Cowley ended his post with a short message to Granada.

"Baby, wherever you might be, just always remember that I LOVE YOU and I miss you very much,” he wrote.

Granada was in Doha as a celebrity speaker at the Philippine Trade Tourism Conference.

According to Cowley, his wife collapsed last October 25 after complaining of a headache. She was rushed to Hamad General Hospital, where she was comatose for almost two weeks.

Cowley said Granada suffered from "brain hemorrhage which indicates aneurysm."

Granada started her career in the show business through German Moreno's "That's Entertainment." She starred in several movies such as "Ligaya ang Itawag Mo sa Akin" in 1997 and "Umiyak Pati Langit" in 1991.

The actress and health enthusiast also did "Magic to Love" and "Lessons in Love" with then leading man Chuckie Dreyfuss. (SunStar Philippines)
