IT was two days of infinite possibilities on all things wedding at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino’s “Wedding Expo 2017: Weddings at the Waterfront.”
The bridal fair happened from Oct. 6 to 7 where a flurry of experts in the wedding industry were showcased, boasting thematic displays. Talking about thematic, none could ignore the dramatic transformation of the Pacific Grand Ballroom, set like a hidden garden in the city. This was the venue for the fair’s bridal fashion shows including the third one that happened on the second day.
Marking the success of the bridal fair was La Relance, meaning revival, featuring the country’s top fashion designers Avel Bacudio, JC Buendia, Mark Bumgarner, Harvey Cenit, Jun Escario, Michael Leyva, Jojie Lloren, Wendell Quisido, Philip Rodriguez, Val Taguba, Philipp Tampus and Cary Santiago.
There was stillness in the room as guests marveled at every design modeled by the best who came strutting down the runway. In every turn, mixes of modern and classic designs were seen on the runway with memorable showstoppers every now and then.
From the details on the couture, the songs playing in the background, the theatrics—it was not at all surprising to hear the crowd gushing on their favorite designs, heaving big sighs as creamy confections worn by the country’s top models walked fluidly past them, and see them getting swept up in all of the romance felt in the air—the kind that makes one feel on weddings.
