Coco in theatres, a delight

THE long wait is finally over for the “Coco” fans! Disney Pixar’s “Coco” holds a jam-packed advance special screening last Friday, November 17, at SM City Davao’s Cinema 6, a week before it officially opened in cinemas nationwide on Nov 22.

In the jam-packed event, fans and mostly kids trooped to experience the ultimate family musical animated film we've been waiting for.

Present at the Special Screening were Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio with her kids and SM Executives.

Guests were treated to cocktails, games, trivia and an exclusive sneak peek of Disney’s Animation’s official trailer of ‘Olaf’s Frozen Adventure at the winter magic themed Christmas Centerpiece. The short film will bring the original cast and characters back to the big screen. Olaf is on a mission to harness the best holiday traditions for Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff.

“Coco” is so beautiful, impeccable and colorful animation, filled with music and a look into Mexican culture and the tradition of the holiday of Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) as well as a heart-warming story about family.

There wasn't a dry eye that night. That seems to be the prevailing response to the movie, which follows Miguel’s family’s baffling generations-old ban on music. Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.

Bring the family together to meet the unique extended family from Disney Pixar's “Coco” and fall in love with the story that definitely has a real heart and the sing-along worthy and catchy song “Remember Me”. It is definitely a must –see.
