ANGELES CITY -- Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan has directed the Office of the City Treasurer to release the City Government employees’ 14th Month Pay starting on Thursday, November 23.
Pamintuan said that the bonuses will help the employees of the City Hall in planning ahead of the holiday season, and will aid them in financing their other expenses.
A total of P26.3 million is allocated by the City Government for the bonuses of more than 1,400 plantilla personnel.
Based on Memorandum Circular No. 2017-2 of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and pursuant to Executive Order No. 21 S. 2016, all government positions, whether regular, casual, or contractual in nature, appointive or elective, full-time or part-time, are entitled to receive the said bonus.
In previous years, government personnel only receive yearend bonuses where a month’s basic pay is divided into two chunks, and are released every May (in time for the enrolment season), and in December (in time for the holiday season).
This year, government personnel are allowed to receive the 13th and 14th month pay which are both equivalent to one month’s basic salary plus a cash gift amounting to P5,000.
“We are instructing our local finance committee for the speedy release of these bonuses. This payout is a manifestation of the city’s financial stability and that our government workers should reap the fruit of their labor, good attitude and exemplary performance that propelled the city to what it is today,” Pamintuan said.
