Switch it up

Lots of awesome phones came out this year and I’m not even talking about the really expensive iPhone X. To be honest, I’ve noticed the Android world churning up lots of devices that can easily put the iPhone to shame. And for a lot of you there, you might have already switched over to Android from iOS. And if you’re still about to, here’s a handy guide form the geeks at Tom’s Guide on how to switch over. Well, at least the basics of it all.

Safety first

The World Wide Web we all surf on is actually just the tip of a bigger online world. There’s also the deep web that we don’t always see. Anyway, going online today involves some risk no matter how small. I’ve mentioned every now and then in my previous posts here the importance of being able to protect yourself. In fact back in April of this year, I talked about online privacy. This is another reminder to be always safe out there. Southern Living website published a short article covering the basics.

RAW on the iPhone

If you don’t know it yet, the more current models of the iPhone allow you to capture images in the RAW format. That, basically, means that the images you capture are not pre-processed into JPEGs using on-board algorithms and such. So how can RAW take your mobile photography into the next level? PetaPixel has an article that can help your get your bearings on that.

Before I end this post, and because I’m such a comics fan, and just in case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s that official trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War movie. Make sure to watch it in HD because, well, it’s awesome like that.
