NEGROS Occidental Football Association president Ricky Yanson Jr., brother of Ceres Negros FC chairman Leor Rey Yanson, asked Negrense football fans to rally behind the home team this coming weekend.
Ceres Negros will take on visiting Kaya FC Makati for the Leg 2 semi-final match of the Philippines Football League on December 9 at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.
Ceres FC is just a win away from securing a PFL finals seat after beating Kaya FC, 1-0 in their home turf at University of Makati on Stephan Schröck’s late goal.
“I’m thankful that the Leg 2 semi-final is here in our hometown. This is another wonderful experience for our young football players to witness the two top football clubs in our country fighting for a finals slot in the PFL,” Yanson said.
“I’m inviting all everyone to watch the game. Let’s support football in our country for the future of our grassroots players,” he added.
Bacolod City Representative Greg Gasataya said that Ceres FC is not only the pride of Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, but of the entire country.
He also called on football fanatics to support the club’s game this weekend.
“Our gratitude to the Yanson family for the achievements of Ceres Negros FC,” he said.
The Panaad Park and Stadium is closed Thursday, December 7, as part of the venue preparation and inspection. The training of the home team will be held at the Ceres FC North Field in Talisay City.
The match commissioner is also scheduled to arrive today while match officials, referees, and Kaya FC will be in Bacolod Friday.
