Pangan: Fun for seniors

THE SENIOR CITIZENS of Mabalacat City were treated to a Cultural and Sports Development activity on December 1, 2017 at the Jade Hall, Xevera, Tabun, courtesy of the Office of Senior Affairs or Osca.

Programmed to be Fun for Seniors, the activity started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by Himno ning Kapampangan and Himno ning Mabalacat.

Ms. Engracia G. Dizon, Osca Head, delivered the welcome remarks, igniting the start of the program proper.

Teresita M. Galang, Osca staff, read the list of participants. Ms. Rosemarie Antonio, FSCAM Vice President, presented the Board of Judges for the singing and dance contests: Cezar "JC" Marucut, head of the city government Cooperative Development Office; Agriculture, GSO staff organizer-Ms. Mabalacat Arnold Dungca and PAC graduate/designer/
choreographer Wency Martin. The criteria for the dance contest were spelled out by Ms. Antonio.

Ms. Victoria "Vida" Dizon of the Office of the City Vice Mayor, acted as the master of ceremonies.

Mr. Apolinario Pare, FSCAM President made the closing remarks.

The second part of the day's activities involved the indoor games: dama, chess, cup stocking and Jack and Poy.

Emerging winners in the Chess and Dama games were: Arnold Edward, 1st place; Restituto Magsino, 2nd and Edilberto Manuel, 3rd.

Mr. Sagad of OSCA acted as umpire and moderator.

In Dama, 1st place went to Oscar Mercado; 2nd to Rizalino Tuazon and 3rd was Juanito Pascua.

In the Jack and Poy game, 1st placer was Martin Manalo of San Francisco; 2nd place-Violeta Tuazon of Sta. Ines and 3rd-Flora Cabusan of Sapang Biabas.

In the Singing contest: 1st place-Melchor Rivera; 2nd-Leonardo Gregorio of San Francisco; 3rd-Remigio Sicat also of San Francisco and 4th-Ligaya Cunanan of Marcos Village.

In the Dance contest, Rosemarie Antonio garnered 1st place; in 2nd place was Eunice Dacillo and in 3rd place was Virginia Pangan.

Lastly, in the cup stocking tiff, 1st place went to Oscar Mercado; 2nd-Ofelia Evangelista and 3rd-Mercedes Grivas.
