HUGE cash prizes await the winners in the 19th Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA-Cebu) Sinulog Open National Tournament set on Jan. 22 to 28 at the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Banilad, Cebu City.
The week-long bowling tournament sanctioned by Philippine Bowling Federation will shell out P70,000 cash prize to the champion in the Masters Mixed Open division and P50,000 for the top bowler in the Masters Seniors’ division.
In the Mixed Open, the second placer will get P35,000, the third placer bags P17,500, while P9,000 and P5,000 for fourth and fifth placers. The sixth to eight placer will get P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.
The Mixed Open is open to all bowlers. The Top 40 in the qualifiers will advance to the Masters Finals including defending champion Aui Padawan.
The seniors division, meanwhile, is open to bowlers aged 50 years old and above. The Top 40 qualifiers will play an eight-game series with the top 12 bowlers advancing to the next round.
The second placer for the seniors division will win P25,000, the third placer will pocket P12,500, while P6,000 and P4,000 for fourth and fifth placers. The sixth to eight place bowlers will get P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000.
BTA-Cebu president Bel Suelto Jr. told SunStar Cebu yesterday that they’re expecting more or less 100 participants. (RSC)
