MABALACAT CITY -- A 34-year-old man, who was the suspect in the killing his 51-year-old girlfriend last month, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly choking a bar entertainer at Diamond Subdivision in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City.
Ryan Simbulan Dayrit, 34, jobless, resident of Clarkview, Barangay Malabanias, Angeles City, was charged for violating the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, said Chief Inspector Aris Gonzales, officer in charge of Angeles City Police Station 4.
Dayrit was also charged with direct assault for hurting policemen and barangay leaders who responded at the night club.
“The suspect insisted to take the victim to the hotel but the latter refused. At that juncture, the suspect choked the victim who immediately sought assistance. When the policemen arrived, the suspect physically harmed the responding lawmen. With the help of the barangay officials, the suspect was arrested and brought to the police station,” Gonzales said.
The Mabalacat City police, headed by Superintendent Ruel Cagape, on December 15, 2017 filed robbery with homicide against Dayrit for allegedly killing Idelmira Quiazon, 51, a businesswoman, a resident of Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City.
Police said Dayrit admitted killing Quiazon and carting away her vault containing an undetermined amount of cash.
