THE defending champion Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) A booked a ticket to the semis after a 3-1 win over Sacred Heart School Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) in the 19th Aboitiz Cup at the Don Bosco Tambasya Field in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City yesterday.
SHS-AdC drew first blood courtesy of Leo Maquiling in the eighth minute. But DBTC responded with an equalizer from Tomas Ramos in the 15th minute.
In the second half, it was John Clyde Vitulla’s turn to provide the heroics as he scored in the 52nd minute to give DBTC the lead, 2-1, and followed it up with another goal in the 60th minute for a 3-1 edge.
Don Bosco Boys Home, meanwhile, used a big push with two consecutive goals late in the first half to beat DBTC B, 2-0.
Jonrey Delibios found away to score with a kick just inside the box at the 32nd minute. After a minute, DBBH had another attack that led to Ruel Pilande’s goal.
DBBH came out with a tight defense in the second half that minimized the goal attempts of DBTC B and the game ended 2-0.
The Paref Springdale Titans also advanced to the semis after a 4-2 triumph over Bright Academy.
Patrick Ganas led the Titans with two goals in 11th and 68th minutes. Loue Arreglo scored the first goal of the game at the third minute followed by GianPaolo Pastrana in the eight minute.
