SASMUAN - Hundreds of indigent individuals in this town were given free medical and dental assistance sponsored by Senator Cynthia Villar and assisted by the local government unit here.
Villar said that the medical and dental mission held at the Sasmuan Rural Health Unit in Barangay San Nicolas 2 was in cooperation with the Las Pinas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center and Las Pinas City Dental Chapter.
“Matagal ko nang ginagawa ang medical mission na ito simula ng nagging senador tayo, alam naman ninyo na ang lolo ni Senador Manny (Villar) ay tubong Sasmuan, Pampanga at nitong nakaraan Disyembre ay nag celebrate siya ng birthday niya, kaya ito ay aming handog sa mga kababayan niya dito at magbigay ng libreng gamot at serbusyo sa kanila,” Villar said.
Villar added that aside from the medical and dental mission, hundreds of elementary children benefited from the simultaneous feeding program.
She also said that the Villar Foundation is also sponsoring livelihood trainings.
For his part Mayor Nardo Velasco thanked Villar for the much-needed assistance, saying that the senator has done much for his hometown.
“Malaki ang pasasalamat naming kay Senadora Cythia at dating Senator Manny Villar dahil sa kanilang walang sawang pagtulong sa aming mga kababayan,” he said.
