Sagpulon Falls in Jasaan earns P2M as of Jan 2018

SAGPULON Falls, one of the local tourist attractions in Barangay San Isidro, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, has earned some P2 million as of Monday, January 22, according to Provincial Governor Yevgeny Emano.

"I was very happy that she reported me that Sagpulon Falls as of today already earned, for the municipal government, around P2,099,000 ug kini sa leadership ni Mayor Jonathan Po, sa Tourism Officer ug sa Barangay Council (and through the leadership of Mayor Jonathan Po, for the tourism officer and the barangay council)," Emano said, adding that they were able to collect said amount due to the influx of people visiting the tourist site.

The earnings collected by the barangay were utilized to buy their own multicab vehicle which will be used for the residents of San Isidro in times of emergency and calamities.

Emano, likewise, turned over a multicab on Thursday, January 18, for the same purpose.

Engineer Paul Waga, Misamis Oriental engineering officer, praised the Sagpulon Falls saying it is one of the beautiful tourist spots in Misamis Oriental.

"Sagpulon Falls is one of the magnificent tourism destinations in Misamis Oriental. This falls has roughly 143 feet equivalent to 44 meters water drop, with an icy cold water basin below for the tourist to enjoy," Waga added.

Last Thursday Pryce Gases Inc., a company engaged in the manufacture and distribution of industrial and medical gases and liquefied petroleum gas, turned over the P1-million main gate of Sagpulon Falls.

Jasaan Mayor Po, in his part, was grateful to Pryce Gas for their contribution.

"Talagsaon ra kaayo nga ang pribado nga indibidwal ug walay stake sa atong lungsod naghuna-huna unsa iyang mahatag ug ma-contribute aron lamang mahimong kabahin sa atong kalamboan (It's very rare for a private individual and such without stake in our municipal to think of what he can give and contribute for the its growth)," Mayor Po said.

Darwin Saraga, the assistant vice president of Administrative Services Department of Pryce Gas who served as the representative of Pryce Gas Inc., was thankful for the invitation and for the opportunity that was given to their company to serve the municipality.

"Rest assured that Pryce Gas will be here... will be in support with Misamis Oriental Government," Saraga said.

The Jasaan mayor, in turn, urged the residents of San Isidro to continue being the means to promote the tourism site, adding that they "should be one in pursuing tourism development in the municipality."

"Gov. Bambi, I hope that we will continue our partnerships not in the name of anything else but most of all in the name of justice and equality for all Jasaan, ilawom sa programa sa turismo sa atong lungsod ug sa probinsya sa Misamis Oriental (under the tourism program of Misamis Oriental). Let us be united as one family and let us be proud as Jasaanon," Po said. (With reports from Mary Ross Odchigue and Crystel Ann Perpetua, USTP interns/SunStar CDO)
