AN INFLUENTIAL official in Cebu City has been implicated in the ambush-slay of Ermita Barangay Captain Felicisimo “Imok” Rupinta.
One of the witnesses, Rolando Alvares Pacres, executed on Friday, February 9, a supplemental affidavit identifying the alleged "boss" of Winefredo Miro, the alleged mastermind behind Rupinta's killing.
SunStar Philippines is withholding the name of Miro's alleged "boss" until charges are filed against him.
Rupinta was ambushed in Liloan town, Cebu on November 23, 2017 as he was driving home with common-law wife Jocelyn Mendoza.

Pacres's supplemental affidavit was received by the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor at 5 p.m. Friday.
The affidavit states that Miro revealed the identity of his "boss" when he summoned Pacres to his office to inform him that the "boss" had approved the P200,000 budget and two .45 caliber pistols for the murder of Rupinta.
Pacres said he did not elaborate on the identity of Miro's "boss" in his first affidavit because he feared for his and his family's safety.
"Kahibawo ko kon unsa sa empluwensyado kining si BOSS mao nga ako nakahukom nga dili nako hinganlan pa ngadto sa mga polis ug sa Legal Officer nga maoy nagsukit-sukit dihang gibuhat ang akong Judicial Affidavit kaniadtong December 8, 2017," Pacres stated.
Miro, former Cebu City Markets Office operation chief, was accused by Mendoza of "orchestrating an assassination plot" against Rupinta. He has been charged with murder for the killing of Rupinta and attempted murder for Mendoza. (MVI/SunStar Philippines)
