Balweg: Congressman Mark Go to address BARP GA meeting

IF the BARP members filled the auditorium to capacity last January 27th, to listen to City Mayor Mauricio Domogan, no less mammoth audience is expected to show up on February 24 (last Saturday of the month) when Congressman "Mark" Go steps on stage next Saturday in the same venue, Pres. CEO Federico A. Balanag joyfully informed GYN editorial office yesterday.

Balanag gave the assurance following Benguet Builder's head Engr. Isabelo O. Abing's promise to hasten final work on the unfinished portions of the BARP Center building. The elevator, especially, is an object of expectation by the elderly BARP members, who unfailingly brave even inclement weathers to come to their monthly assembly and listen for good news personally in their Center.

It is moving to watch elderly feet trying to negotiate the downs and ups of five-floor stairs to meet and listen to modern health evangelists of body and soul.

More and more of such groups are coming with zest. Surprisingly, despite hardships to satisfy on time amortization reminders sent by a lending bank. God helps those who help themselves is a scenario in this case. Members of the BARP twin arms, BFI and BMPC boards, with their respective and/or joint working committees under them have recently shown more attention to their organizational job than they did in the past.

It is hoped that the BARP rank and file members will follow suit. Finishing touches on the building must precede the last months of 2018, Year of the Dog in the Chinese time chart.

No another August 22 must come without a final turn-over by the construction firm to the owner of the Center. They expect that now, Apo Abing. Hope so, Hope so!

To our mind, community leader Mark Go is a timely speaker in the abovementioned affair. He has put himself as an iconic mark in the managerial history of Baguio TI (Texas Instrument). He has indelibly etched performance in the memory of his former peers and subordinates.

A model in able and effective governance, he often spoke in seminar-workshops like those where he was sought after as lecturer by the Cooperative Union of Baguio City long led by cooperative advocate Engr. Susan Angaga.

As representative of the Lone District of Baguio City, "Mark" made another first by delivering the first SODA (state of the district address) by a congressman to his constituency last midyear 2017 during a flag ceremony at the Baguio City Hall grounds. His reports and plans proved his clarity of vision and mission in the performance of the work in the National Office he occupies to ensure betterment of life for those who had voted him into office. A worthy model for BARP officers and staff albeit mostly volunteers. Thank you for coming!
