APALIT -- More than a hundred Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) parent-leaders from the 12 barangays of this town received P3,600 as annual allowance.
A total of 104 parent-leaders were assigned to monitor the lifestyle of fellow 4Ps members and the amount serves as compensation for performing their duties, said Mayor Peter Nucom.
Nocum said the local government allocated some P347,400 from the annual budget for the allowances of the parent-leaders.
“Ang primary role nila is to guide and monitor the activities ng kanilang kasamang 4Ps members na tumatanggap ng cash grants from the government at masiguro nila na makakatulong sa pangaraw-araw nilang gastusin at sinisiguro ng gobyerno na napupunta sa tama ang mga pera, lalo na sa pangangailangan ng mga anak nila (Their primary role is to guide and monitor other 4Ps members and make sure that the cash grants are used properly particularly for the needs of their children),” he said.
In his speech, Nucom expressed his gratitude to the parent-leaders for going out of their daily routines to perform the duties tasked to them by the government in exchange for a minimal amount.
He stressed that their service has helped in ensuring that only the most deserving families in town becomes part of the social programs of the government.
“Ang inyong trabaho ay napakaimportante hindi lamang para sa gobyerno, kundi maging sa mga kapwa niyong pamilya na hirap sa buhay at talagang nangangailangan (Your work is very important not only to the government but for indigent families who are in need),” he noted.
Nucom, meanwhile, urged the parent-leaders to continue performing their duties honestly and avoid petty fights among other 4Ps members in their communities.
He stressed that as leaders, they must guide their fellow members to the right practices and avoid creating small groups within the circle.
