An English Teahouse in little Amsterdam

BY now, we have all heard about, read about or visited the lush flowering fields of the original Sirao Garden, Little Amsterdam in Busay Hills, Cebu. We are still in absolute awe and admiration at the rows-upon-rows of floral varieties that have been arranged terraces-style by proprietress Elena Sy-Chua, retired flight supervisor of Cathay Pacific Airways (CX).

Elena did not merely stop at planting, nurturing and harvesting her floral gems but painstakingly developed the area into a rambling theme park of sorts, starting, of course with the signature windmill!

From park benches to swings, to kiddie rides to a gazebo, her latest venture is an English Teahouse called Casa Bella.

Painted white, it boasts of arched windows, a balcony, with cozy wrought-iron chairs at the entrance. It can seat 12 on upholstered sofas and armchairs. That day, media guests were served tea, scones, coffee and lots more!

On other days, Elena entertains fellow CX retirees and special friends. By the way, the teahouse is open for private parties, coffee breaks etc. but advance reservations are required. Please call Elena at 0920-979-5790.
