BACOLOD, Negros Occidental -- Davao City-based Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club (RPVGCC) grabbed the third spot in the first round of the ongoing 71st PAL Interclub Men's Regular Tournament Aviator Division at the Bacolod Golf and Country Club here yesterday.
RPVGCC submitted a day's total of 93 points as EJ Casintahan led the cast with 26 followed by Donald Galicia with 24, Vincent Gumapac with 23 and Leo Yap with 24
The Negros Occidental Gplf and Country Club, Inc. took the top spot with 105 behind Robbie Clemente's 30, Justin Limjap (28), Max Javelona (24) and Deric Locsin (23).
In second was Sherwood Hills Golf Club (105) as Shun Ariizumi registered 32 while Nicolae Sevilla, Hide-Joman Hirooka and Maeno Yuichiro added 28, 25 and 17, respectively.
The Apo Golf and Country Club (75) occupied the seventh spot while Davao City Golf Club (74) came eighth.
Lanang Golf Club (LGC), meanwhile, had a sluggish start with 71 to place seventh in the Friendship Class.
The veteran-laden team from Davao City was behind fellow-71 pointer Iligan Golf and Country Club via a count back.
Mark Villorente had 19 to pace the Lanang as teammates Robert Plana and Raymond Salvador tallied identical 18 and Danny Gotera contributed 16.
Lanang will try to bounce back when action resumes at the Marapara Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club.
Bay Area Golf Org (BAGO) led Friendship division with 88 points followed by South Cotabato Golf and Country Club (87) in close second, San Juanico Golf Club (80) third and Mt. Malindang (78) fourth and Pittsburg Fil Am Golf (73) fifth in the event presented by Philippine Airlines and supported by RMN, Manila Times, Mastercard, The Philippine Manila Standard, Rolls Royce, Bombardier, TV5, Primax, BusinessWorld, Crossover and Fox, Boeing, PAGCOR, Belmonte Hotel, Eton Properties and Asia Brewery Inc.
