DavNor hauls 9 swimming golds, Dipolog tanker shines with 3

OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental - Davao del Norte collected nine gold medals while Dipolog tanker Leano Vince Dalman cornered three golds in the Batang Pinoy Mindanao Leg swimming competition at the Misamis Occidental Provincial Athletics Center (Mopac) here as of Thursday, March 8, 2018.

Davao del Norte's gold rush lifted the province to keep the top spot of the medal tally as of 1 p.m. yesterday with a total of 11 golds, six silvers and eight bronzes.

Koronadal City, which garnered nine golds, eight silvers and six bronzes, placed second followed by Davao City (6-3-0) third, South Cotabato (5-6-7) fourth, General Santos City (5-4-10), fifth, Dipolog City (5-2-1) sixth, Zamboanga City (5-0-5) seventh, Cotabato Province (3-2-2) eighth, Bukidnon (2-11-5) ninth and Sto. Tomas (2-2-1) 10th.

Ronel Gerard Cucharo (boys 12-under 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke), Blu Cabilete (boys 13-15 50m backstroke), Abbsaer Saggap (boys 12-under 1,500m freestyle, 400m individual medley), Mary Grace Batalla (girls 12-under 100m butterfly, 200m backstroke), Selwyn Rex Cinunay (boys 13-15 200m backstroke) and Cassandra Yumi Bagarra (girls 13-15 400m IM).

Dalman, meanwhile, struck for three golds in boys 100m butterfly with a time of one minute and 13.50 seconds, 200m IM (2:37.84) and 50m backstroke (33.67).

Davao City's Eirron Seth Vibar pocketed a gold in boys 13-15 400m IM having checked in at 5:09.68 while Davao del Norte's Eryk John Omandam (5:19.39) took the silver and Bukidnon's Enzo Malayang (5:26.13) salvaged the bronze.

Other delegations also got their share of the golds including General Santos City's Thea Diane Canda (girls 400m IM), Francisco Cordero (boys 12-under 50m breaststroke), Cotabato Province's Angela Mikaela Talosig (girls 12-under 50m breaststroke), Dipolog's Azbren Jan Dayappadan (boys 13-15 50m breaststroke), Zamboanga City's Austin John Hampac (boys 13-15 100m butterfly), Bukidnon's Jindsy Dasion (girls 13-15 100m butterfly), Koronadal City's Trixia Nicole Paloma (girls 13-15 200m backstroke) and Panabo City's Bernice Arabelle Elesterio (girls 13-15 50m breaststroke).
