Shan United to host Ceres FC on March 14

AFTER that 2-0 setback against Ceres Negros FC on late goals last Tuesday at Panaad Park and Stadium, Shan United FC will host the Philippine squad on March 14 at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.

Shan United coach Soe Myat Min credited Ceres FC for the win.

“They deserved it. For our players they gave their all-out efforts in the match except for the two mistakes in the second half. This is a lesson for them not to commit the same mistake in their next game,” he said.

Coach Min despite the loss is happy as their Group window remained wide open onward the next round after Beoung Ket of Cambodia surprised Home United of Singapore, 3-2 at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, also last Tuesday.

“We will try our best to get good result in our next game,” Min added.

Ceres Negros FC coach Risto Vidakovic said it wasn’t easy to play against a team that is dedicated to defending the whole time.

He added that the pitch at Panaad seemed not to favor them as the ball runs slow.

“With this kind of defensive teams, we have to move the ball faster. We have to do lots of things,” he added.

With Ceres FC having three points ahead of the second team – Home United, Vidakovic said they don't feel any pressure going into their next game.

Meanwhile, midfielder Stephan Schrock is still up to play in their next match against Shan despite suffering some cuts and bruises during their last face-off.

The team is set to leave for Myanmar today.
