IN line with its advocacy to protect the environment, real estate developer Paramount Property Ventures Inc. (PPVI) held a tree-planting activity, Spread It Green, last Feb. 17 at the La Cresta in Can-asujan, Carcar City, Cebu.
More than 100 guyabano seedlings were planted by the PPVI employees, investors, guests, and barangay officials.
These seedlings are just the initial batch to be planted in the area. PPVI intends to plant at least 1,000 trees in its La Cresta community and these will be a mix of medium-sized fruit-bearing and native trees.
PPVI vice president for international sales Arli Arenas-Vergara extended the company’s gratitude to all the participants, most especially to the barangay, for its support.
Can-asujan Barangay Captain Lito Castañares, together with his barangay officials, came to join PPVI’s Spread It Green initiative.
“While we are already seeing greens here in La Cresta, we want to spread it more. We are one with the barangay in protecting nature. This, as we aim to provide every La Cresta homeowner the benefit of living next to nature,” said Arenas-Vergara.
Castañares, for his part, assured PPVI that they will continue to support its greening activity. He said that the government has launched a National Greening Program, which is aimed at mitigating climate change and to help combat global warming.
In response to Castañares’s call, Arenas-Vergara assured that the Spread It Green will come in a series of activities.
“Rest assured that we will continue to give back to Mother Earth. Our developments will not in any way sacrifice nature. We are here to create lifestyles. And one that blends well nature,” she said.
