Sex-for-passing grades allegation raised against university instructor

A STATE university instructor has been accused of misconduct for allegedly asking for sexual favors from female students in exchange for a passing grade. The name and pictures of the teacher from the Cebu Technological University (CTU)-Argao were circulated on social media, including Facebook. SunStar Cebu is withholding the name of the teacher because we couldn’t reach him for his comment.

Two weeks ago, a 19-year-old third year college student went to Argao Police Station with her lawyer. They asked how to stop the instructor from allegedly spreading the videos he took when student was naked.

A police investigator, who requested not to be named, said the police station referred the girl to Regional Anti-Cybercrime Office (RACO) 7 in Cebu City. The investigator further said that the lawyer will press criminal complaints against the teacher before the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas.

Chief Insp. Leo Dofiles, RACO 7 commander, said they have not received a complaint against the teacher. “The case will no move if there is no complainant,” he said in a phone interview.

SunStar Cebu called the landline of CTU-Argao six times yesterday, but the other line was always busy. (KAL)
