Platinum possesses a catalytic nature of being able to speed up and affect external chemical reactions while staying true to its own form. It doesn’t rust or tarnish and is fairly resistant to acid. It’s the miracle component in catalytic converters used world-wide to fight pollution like traffic fumes and an important part in producing scientific equipment.
It’s very easy to work with platinum as it is malleable and ductile, making it one of the most preferred metals in jewelry. Because of these qualities, platinum stands to be one of the rarest and most expensive elements in the world.
Achieving a platinum year in the history of an institution can be deemed as nothing less than remarkably astounding. More than the 25 years of the silver anniversary or the 50 years of gold, a platinum anniversary tells an almost-a-lifetime story of untiring tenacity and commitment despite numerous struggles and challenges.
This precise conquering of challenges and soaring on to greater heights was the occasion celebrated by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Bacolod Inc. last March 10 at The Circle Inn Hotel.
It’s 70th Induction and Turnover Ceremonies was a celebration of resilience and strength. Like the metal in which the 70th year is most associated with, the organization has weathered generations of challenges and diversity. Its history is filled with both achievements and trials, but always filled with people who come together to fulfill a vision of providing young people with development opportunities to create positive social impact.
Led by its 2018 president Japheth Gever Jingco, the officers and new members took their oaths and pledged to stand by their thrust of upholding Life (love, integrity, faith, and excellence) as witnessed by JCI Bacolod Inc.’s past presidents and members, JCI Philippines’ National Board officers, and event guests. These core values are aimed to give more meaning to the different projects impacting internationalism, business, community service, and personal development.
