DPWH announces bridge work in Magsaysay town

THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Northern Mindanao is asking commuters and motorists to be patient as they will implementing a two-day road closure in Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental national highway starting Tuesday, April 3, until Wednesday.

Vinah Maghinay, DPWH-Northern Mindanao spokesperson said the bridge will be totally closed to facilitate the installation of girders at Kibungsod bridge, Magsaysay town.

Maghinay said the bridge will be closed from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for two days.

However, Maghinay said there will be a one-hour interval during the installation to allow vehicles to pass and DPWH personnel will be deployed to man the traffic while the construction is ongoing.

Maghinay said there are no alternate road available in the area so vehicles will have to wait until its break time.

The installation of girders are needed to strengthen and widen the bridge, she said.

"We are asking for the commuters' consideration especially to the traveling public because traffic will surely be affected since the bridge is at in the national highway. But rest assured that we will try our best to finish the work the soonest possible time," she said.
