Lubao holds fun run to campaign vs smoking

HUNDREDS of municipal employees of Lubao, along with various groups, participated in the early morning fun run on Thursday, April 12, to campaign against cigarette smoking, among others.

The five-kilometer fun run, which took off at the multi-purpose covered court of Barangay Sta. Cruz, snaked through the busy Jose Abad Santos Avenue and wound up at the Lubao Bamboo Hub and Ecopark in Barangay Sta. Catalina.

The event aimed at eliminating the prevalence of smoking and promoting a healthy lifestyle. It also served as an avenue to inform the public of the other services of the municipal government in employment generation and civil registry.

Through the directives of Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, the advocacy run was organized by the Municipal Civil Registrar, Health Office, Human Resource Management Offics and the Public Employment Services Office.

Officials of Barangay Sta. Cruz, led by Chairman Bernie Pineda, also joined the morning activity.

The run was made more exciting with a series of stops where instructors led the runners to dance some Zumba numbers.
