21 wanted persons nabbed under Oplan Kalinaw

AUTHORITIES nabbed a total of 21 wanted personalities and profiled 1,681 residents in identified areas in Davao City during the Oplan Kalinaw or the comprehensive Joint Area Security Community Service and Protection Operation Plan on Thursday morning, April 12.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Senior Inspector Ma. Teresita Gaspan said the simultaneous operation of the combined elements of the security forces scored anew against criminals hiding in the urban communities with the arrest of almost two dozen wanted personalities with standing warrants of arrest.

Arrested individuals were identified as Joshua Quijada (for murder); Junel Malones Dajao (trespass to dwelling); Kenjie Sasaki (acts of lasciviousness in relation to RA 7610); Ronar Liza (Bench warrant of arrest); Maria Luzviminda and Anita Juridico (violation of RA 9287); Carmelita Aquino for violation of PD 1602 with CC# DVO-18-00883-CR; Marvin Fuallo (theft); Leopoldo Sayson Rivera (theft); and Ruther Batobalani (frustrated murder).

Other offenders nabbed in the four-hour operation were Yolanda Dela Peña (violation of RA 9287); Anna Marie Tuazon Parpan (simple illegal recruitment); Leonardo Sarsona (malicious mischief); Lorenzo Q Ambuat and Levi E Gomez (theft); Virgilio S. Aman (violation of SSS Law); Ruel Momo Panibon (grave oral defamation); Jessie Asis Guzman and Joel Lorezo Diente (PD 1602); Felix Sumbiling Rungdoen (violation of section 261 of omnibus election code); and Richard Alolor Barbano (violation of RA 7610).

Davao Police conducted the regular operation with other law enforcement units namely Task Force Davao (TFD), Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB 11), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG 11), Regional Maritime Unit (RMU 11), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP 11), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG 11) and Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU 11), 44th SAB.

Representatives of the Rehabilitation Center for Drug Dependents (RCDD), Police Regional Office Davao (PRO 11) and Health Center and City Health Office (Davao) were also present during the operation.

The activity is designed to initiate: 1) Identity/background check and profiling of transient residents in the city’s urban poor communities; 2) manhunt operations/ arrest of wanted persons/ fugitives hiding in these communities; 3) community outreach/free medical checkup and giving of medicines and vitamins; and 4) community empowerment through crime prevention education.

Areas benefited are in Police Station (PS1) Brgy. 37-D; (PS2) Fatima Village, Brgy 19-B, Bacaca Road; (PS3) Purok 23, Isla Suerte, Times Beach, Ecoland; (PS4) Purok 24, Kalderohan, Malagamot, Brgy. Panacan; (PS5) Sto. Niño, Brgy. Mandug; (PS6) Licanan, Lasang; (PS8) Prk. 13, Urban, Brgy Bato, Toril; (PS9) Purok 23, Sitio Saloy, Sto. Niño; and (PS10) Purok 21, San Roque, Calinan Poblacion - all in Davao City.

“In addition, a total of 902 residents availed of the free medical check-up, among them are the 713 persons who received free medicines; while PS3 in collaboration with Brgy 76-A issued a total of 100 Cedula to people residing at Purok 23, Talisay Times beach, Ecoland, this City,” Gaspan added.

She also thanked Dr. Jude L. Enriquez, family medicine of H-Plus, and his wife, Dra Neda Enriquez (dentist); DJ Cabalatungan of GX International; Annaize Albios of One M Pharmaceuticals for providing and giving free checkup services to the residents of Talomo.
