1 dead, 11 hurt as vehicle plunges into a cliff

ONE person died, while 11 others were wounded, after the vehicle they were riding plunged into a cliff in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported on Sunday, April 15.

The Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Police Office reported the incident happened around 5:20 p.m., Saturday, April 14, along the national highway in the village of Poblacion Bajo, Sergio Osmena town.

The police identified the lone fatality as Cesar Uno, who was rushed but failed to reach the hospital alive.

Investigation showed the victims were aboard a dro-side utility vehicle driven by Abelardo Duran, 43, that plunged into the ravine after the vehicle ramped the roadside railings.

The vehicle was traveling from a resort in the village of Sinai, Sergio Osmeña to Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur, at the time of the incident.

The police said the 11 injured victims were hospitalized. (SunStar Philippines)
