Exclusive enclave opens in Talisay City, Negros Occidental

ACTIVE Group of Companies, a fully integrated and full-service real estate conglomerate in the country, launched Durham Rows, its new addition, at Town and Country in Talisay City, Negros Occidental yesterday.

Leading the groundbreaking rites were Active Group officials: Antonio Turalba, chairman, and founder, and wife Cristina Turalba, co-chairman and co-founder; Antonio Turalba Jr., president and chief executive officer; Ma. Valerie Villar, executive vice president and general manager of Active Construction Inc.; Maricar Octaviano, head of Sales of Active Land Estate Sales Inc. In Bacolod; and Joenard Arimas, project comptroller or senior engineer of Active of Construction Inc. and Soliven brothers, Rey and Dot, who are cousins of Cristina Turalba.

The blessing of the property was officiated by Rev. Fr. Rayman Asoy.

Durham Rows is an exclusive enclave located right within the genteel community of Town and Country with an initial of 20 thoughtfully planned housing units available.

Its contemporary design meets the modern lifestyle that promotes convenience and hassle-free living.

"We are putting up an initial of 20 residential units with the same quality of housing that Active is known for. You can feel the air and the ambiance of the surrounding area. Location is always very important to Active when we do our project. We always have in our minds, the comfort of our clients. If our clients are satisfied, then we can go on with our projects and at the same time our dreams of coming up a house that is beyond shelter," said Antonio Turalba.

"We want our satisfaction can also be enjoyed by our clients. It is very fitting that we have this new project. There will be more to come. After this, there will be additional units and exciting projects. Durham Rows will enable the kind of project we will put up next that will excite everybody," he added.

Turalba Jr. said Durham Rows is a residential project of the Active Group wherein they offer to the lot buyers a unit in the project. It is still the usual lot purchase with house construction.

"The buyer has the option to customize the interior. They just have to specify what kind of finishes they want. But they have to tell us in advance so that we will adjust to what the clients would want. The buyer can purchase the lot and we will build the unit for them," he said.

Active Group of Companies engaged in real estate business for 48 years now in their Luzon area and 24 years in Negros Occidental.

The posh Town and Country was their first project outside of Metro Manila.

"We have probably developed more than 500 hectares in the province having projects in the cities of Bacolod, Talisay, Victorias, Cadiz, and Sagay. We have been here for so long already. When we were doing this, we did not expect that a townhouse development would actually sell here. But we are lucky that Bacolod has progressed. We are lucky that we are able to ride on with the progress of Bacolod," the younger Turalba said.

"There will be more projects after these new lines that we are offering. We will soon be launching another subdivision in Talisay. We still have a big property in E.B Magalona which is not yet been developed including other areas in the province maybe in the next five to 10 years. We are talking of about P300 million in inventories just for these projects alone," he said.

He added that Negros is considered the second home of Active Group of Companies.

"Bacolod is very comfortable to us for our expansion. My parents started Active Group in the 1970s as they are both architects. They started from the build and sell houses to building and selling small buildings, condominiums and expanded to subdivisions. And now we have developed golf courses and beach community. So more or less, Active would have developed in Manila more than a thousand hectares already," he said.

Real estate boom in Negros is very upbeat.

"We came here too early and that time we can hardly sell as fast as now," he added.

On April 17, the Active Construction Inc. also celebrated its 24 fruitful years since it started its firm in Bacolod and Negros Occidental in 1994.
