Emirates launches 1st Dubai-Cebu-Clark-Dubai flight

CEBU CITY -- Filipinos from Cebu and other areas in the Visayas and Mindanao no longer have to go to Manila to catch a flight for Dubai, with the launching Wednesday, March 30, of Emirates' first Dubai-Cebu-Clark-Dubai circular service.

The new service is Emirates' first in the Philippines.

The Flight EK338 will depart daily from Dubai at 2:55 a.m. (Dubai time) and will arrive at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport at 3:50 p.m. (Philippine time). It will then depart from Cebu at 5:25 p.m. and arrive at Clark International Airport at 6:45 p.m. The return flight will depart Clark at 8:20 p.m. and arrive at Dubai International Airport at 1:25 a.m.

"We are confident that our new service will have a positive impact on the development of tourism and trade in the Philippines' regional economies," said Adnan Kazim, Emirates' divisional senior vice president of the Strategic Planning, Revenue Optimization and Aeropolitical Affairs.

The service, with Boeing 777-300ER, can accommodate a total of 428 seats (42 on Business Class and 386 on Economy), and has Filipino-speaking cabin crew on board.

"Our extensive global network of over 150 destinations will help enhance connectivity for both Cebu and Clark, providing more choices for travelers, more markets for regional products, and ore opportunities for inbound tourism," said Badr Abbas, Emirates' senior vice president for Commercial Operations-Far East.
