Stop the ads, says Duterte

DAVAO CITY -- Mayor Rodrigo Duterte told his publicists to stop releasing advertisements about the upcoming election, as it overshadows the interest on his advocacy for federalism.

"Undangi na na. Paghuwat mo nako musulti nga mudagan ko (Stop that. Wait when I tell you that I'm running) because until now, I said it has not sunk in my mind about being president," Duterte said Monday afternoon.

He said that he is already old and does not have energy anymore.

"Wala na 'koy energy ana. Kabalo ka ngano? When I was mayor, I used to work, instead of 24, 27 hours ko (I no longer have the energy for that. You know why? I used to work 27 hours instead of 24 as mayor). And if you are the president, you must have to work maybe 40 hours. Asa ko mangita ana? Tiguwang na ko (Where will I get that energy? I'm already old)," he said.

Duterte was interviewed during the live radio program of dzMM Tuesday morning.

Broadcaster Ted Failon asked him what will change the mind of Duterte for him to run in 2016.

Duterte reiterated he is not interested with the position.

"Nakikita ko hindi para sa akin yan (It's not for me)," he said.

Duterte also discussed about how federalism would benefit not only the people of Mindanao but the whole country as well. (Sun.Star Davao)
