CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga - Chiefs of police or their provincial police directors will be relieved immediately if they could not meet the deadline on putting up reformation centers in their respective area of responsibilities.
This was disclosed by Chief Superintendent Aaron Aquino, Central Luzon Police Regional Office (PRO) acting director, during 12th Regional Advisory Council (RAC) meeting on Tuesday.
Aquino said if a chief of police could not put-up his own reformation center in his area come September 7 this year, he or she will automatically be relieved from his or her post.
“For none compliance with my orders, any chief of police or provincial, city director, I would him or her immediately,” he told the RAC members.
“Since July 1, I ordered all the chiefs of police, provincial and city directors to put-up their respective reformation center in their respective area of jurisdiction,” said Aquino.
At the same time, he appealed to local government units (LGUs) to help the PNP PRO3 to construct reformation centers.
“Alam naman po natin na walang budget ang PNP para sa mga itatayong reformation center kaya naman kami ay umaapela sa mga mayor, congressman at gobernador na tumulong sa pagtatayo ng mga ito,” Aquino said.
He said the PNP would like to help drug pushers to be reformed and could have decent lives.
“We don’t condone extra judicial killings, we want to change the life of these drug pushers,” Aquino said.
He said as of now, there were three million drug pushers nationwide. This is a big problem of the PNP, he added.
“I’m serious to say that any chiefs of police, provincial and city directors that could not comply with my orders will be relieved,” Aquino said.
He cited Senior Superintendent Danilo Florentino, Aurora provincial director, who was relieved from his post due to non-compliance to the reformation center. (Ric Sapnu)
