Suspected drug pusher killed

AUTHORITIES continue to face a blank wall in their investigation after a suspected drug pusher in the Summer Capital was shot September 9 in broad day light near his residence.

The victim was identified as Franklin Bambico, 33, and a resident of 22-A Dominican Mirrador Hill, was shot at around 1:00 in the afternoon along Lourdes Proper Rd., Lourdes Subd. by still two unidentified suspects who were on board a black motorcycle.

Police investigation revealed the victim, who is under the drug list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, sustained a gunshot wound in the back of his nape and was declared dead on the spot by Police Superintendent Rodrigo Leal.

From July 1 to September 9, 15 drug personalities have already died, four of them was killed in legitimate operations, while 11 in shooting incidents.

Baguio City Police Office director Senior Superintendent George Daskeo told Sun.Star Baguio those who were killed in police operations fought back to authorities while investigations are still on going on the shooting incidents.

Daskeo furthered they are looking at all angles on the motive on the killings of 11 alleged drug personalities such as business or territory rift and will continue to investigate.

The BCPO chief stressed the PNP does not condone the increasing number of extrajudicial killings.

Presently, there are 118 drug personalities arrested in the city while 1,038 surrendered to the authorities.
