Alleged pickpocket dumped in Dagohoy St.

AUTHORITIES are now on hot pursuit of possible suspects in the slay of an alleged pickpocket who was dumped in Dagohoy street.

A police report revealed the male victim, aged between 30-35 years-old, was found at around 11:25 in the evening of September 11 along the corner of Rillera building and City Light tower.

The report added the victim was wearing black jacket, camouflage t-shirt and a black maong pants with his hands and feet hog tied while his mouth was wrapped with a packing tape.

His body bore a sign that reads, “Wag niyo akong tularan, mandurukot ako.”

The case is still under investigation as of press time, while the identity of the victim and motive of killing is still unknown.

Just a few days earlier, an alleged drug user was killed in broad day light prompting the Baguio City Police Office to intensify its foot patrol efforts particularly in the central business district.

BCPO city director S/Supt. George Daskeo stressed this acts should not be tolerated and they will make sure perpetrators will be put behind bars.

“It is not right for any person to take the law in their hands. It is a violation of the law and any person to have done such is answerable for his unlawful acts,” Daskeo told Sun.Star Baguio.

Daskeo added the PNP is mandated to uphold the law and give utmost respect to the rights of everyone.

“Chief PNP [General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa] has also given us same instruction that in the performance of our duties, it should be strictly in accordance with law and give due respect for human rights,” Daskeo stressed.

Since July, BCPO has recorded at least 11 alleged druggies killed in shooting incidents while the stated body found was the first of killing on pickpockets.
