Albeit with travel restrictions and faced with possible deportation, Dongor faces up to his plight. Or so he said he tries to do every day.

THE Office of the Ombudsman has ordered the filing of criminal charges against Iloilo’s second district Representative Augusto Boboy Syjuco, then director general of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda), and 10 others over irregularities in Tesda projects.
Party-list allowed to run in polls
THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has officially reconsidered the “Abyan Ilonggo” (AI) to the May 2013 polls as the number 41 choice for an accredited party-list group.
In a text message, Iloilo representative Rolex Suplico said, “Yeheyyy!!Abyan Ilonggo was given No. 41 by the Comelec just now in the ballot for May 2013 elections. It’s now officially a Comelec-accredited party-list.”

Reverend Father Lowe Dongor, in his letter, made a plea to critics and media to spare his family from incessant media attention.
NBI files syndicated estafa raps vs 17 bank execs
CRIMINAL charges for syndicated estafa have been filed by the National Bureau of Investigation Western Visayas Regional Office (NBI WEVRO) against 17 bank personalities of the Rural Bank of Badiangan (Iloilo) Inc.
The charges, once upheld, carry no bail for all of the respondents.

GRAFT charges against Iloilo City Lone District Representative Jerry Trenas, businessman Melchor Tan and City Treasurer Katherine Tingson were temporarily “set aside” over the city housing project brouhaha.
With at least P130 Million in wasted City Hall funds, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales agreed on an earlier Ombudsman recommendation that called for reinvestigation of the trio.

ILOILO City Representative Jerry P. Trenas is facing an Ombudsman probe for alleged “misuse” of funds.
The complaint, lodged Wednesday by the United National Alliance (UNA) candidates against the lawmaker, questioned an alleged P8.5-billion worth of dealings of the City Government.
Comelec okays absentee voting of nearly 40,000 OFWs
THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) approved the applications of nearly 40,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and migrants abroad as absentee voters.
The approval of the applicants, who are mostly based in the Middle East and throughout Asia, came after the ninth hearing conducted by the Committee on Overseas Absentee Voting.
