Misamis Oriental town acquires P8-M ‘bangus’ plant
IN THE occasion of the 4th Lambangus Harvest Festival on Monday in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, a town official announced of acquiring recently a processing plant for bangus or milkfish production amounting to P8 million from the Bureau of Fish and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
The 500-square meter processing plant is managed by the Balingasag Women’s Producer Cooperative (BWPC) which aims at improving the town’s one-town one-product.
Man stabs masseur to death
AN ALLEGED mentally disturbed man is now in jail after he stabbed to death a "manghihilot" (masseur) inside his house in Lugait town, Misamis Oriental on Sunday.

Mindanao Container Terminal exceeds 1Q target
THE Mindanao Container Terminal (MCT) in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental has exceeded its monthly target collection in February and March, 2012 by 38 percent, pulling the 16-percent deficit in January to a total of 22 percent over and above the actual goal during the first three months of the year.
Quinciano Pavadora, MCT’s officer-in-charge, said the Northern Mindanao’s major port in Misamis Oriental attributed the significant performance on the increase in tax collection on importation exceeding the total target collection of P1.014 billion to P1.1 billion in the first quarter of 2012.
