Council pushes Baywalk temporary closure

THE committee on laws, ordinances and good government of the Bacolod City Council has recommended that the Almana Property Development Corporation, owner of Bacolod Baywalk, should process and secure their business permit.

The permit should indicate the actual place of operation of business, and Almana should also pay the necessary taxes required by law, said Councilor Caesar Distrito.

Sayson on Metrowaste operation: Give them a chance to adjust

BACOLOD City Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson appealed Thursday to the public to give Metrowaste Solidwaste Management Corporation a chance to adjust to their work of collecting garbage in Bacolod City.

There are complaints about their schedules, their rented dump trucks and the garbage collection in general.

Council approves temporary closure of Baywalk

BACOLOD City Councilor Caesar Distrito said the council approved Wednesday his recommendation for Baywalk Restaurant and Entertainment Center to voluntarily close while it processes its business permit.

He said that if Baywalk fails to do so, the City Legal Office will take the necessary action, including its closure.

10,000 join Grupo Progreso opening salvo

AN ESTIMATED crowd of 10,000 Bacolodnons joined the opening salvo of the Grupo Progreso held at Villamonte on Tuesday.

Congressional candidate Mayor Evelio Leonardia said that this is the biggest ever opening salvo that they had. "What more could we ask?"

BACOLOD City ABC President Councilor Mona Dia Jardin justified Wednesday the Lakbay Aral of the 48 village chiefs and 30 City Government heads and personnel Olongapo City recently.

It was a busy day for the Grupo Progreso candidates who started their campaign sorties in several barangays in Bacolod City on Monday. They officially opened their headquarters at Metrodome in Araneta Street by 10 a.m., held a press conference by 1 p.m. where they signed a covenant to the people of Bacolod by affixing their signatures at their platform of government as they traditionally do.

MKK opening salvo set today at Villamonte

PAMILYA MKK bannered by mayoralty bet Monico Puentevella and runningmate Vladimir Gonzalez will unveil the party’s 12-point program of government for a “better Bacolod” in its opening salvo at Barangay Villamonte at 6 p.m. Monday.

Puentevella said there is a mass at the San Sebastian Cathedral at 3 p.m.

Grupo Progreso bets to sign manifesto

THE Grupo Progreso candidates led by congressional bet Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia and mayoralty candidate Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson will sign a manifesto today, Monday, as a form of their contract with the people of Bacolod.

Sayson said there will be a press conference today relative to the signing of the manifesto containing the party’s platform of government to be signed by the candidates.

Magnificent 7 to hold caravan today; opening salvo set tomorrow

THE Magnificent 7 candidates led by vice mayoralty candidate Renecito Novero and six candidates for councilor will hold a caravan today, Monday, starting at the old Bacolod domestic airport in Singcang.

Re-electionist councilor El Cid Familiaran, a Liberal Party candidate who coalesced with Magnificent 7, said they will motorcade from the old airport to public markets and downtown area starting 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
