Ugbanun immediately rushed to Station 2 to report the stealing that occurred around 7:30 p.m. of Sunday at Jollibee-Robinsons.
When police and store management reviewed the CCTV camera recordings that day, they found that the one who took the victim’s cell phone is a certain Josefa Linao.
Linao, 31, is a resident of Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental and now facing charges for theft.
Police are now cooperating with Silay Philippine National Police (PNP) to conduct immediate action against the suspect.
Jollibee-Robinsons management, meanwhile, reiterated their advisory to their valued costumers to keep an eye on their personal belongings as the store management won’t be liable for any loss of costumer’s personal property inside the food chain.
Meanwhile, a store collector/helper is now in hot water after her own boss charged her with “qualified theft” for allegedly not remitting collections amounting to thousands of pesos.
Theft suspect Vemerose Flores was charged in the said case by her boss Ellen Barredo after she (Flores) allegedly refused to remit the P18, 000 cash she collected for ten sacks of rice being sold last Saturday.
Barredo, 33, said in her complaint before Police Station 2 that she was asking Flores to remit to her the said amount. But instead, Flores reportedly told her a lot of alibis, insisting that she had remitted the money already.
Barredo owns a rice retail store at Blk. 19, Lot 18, Estancia Subd., Barangay Mandalagan in Bacolod City.
The victim said she is determined to pursue the charge if Flores continues to deny the whereabouts of the said amount.
