4 men charged for illegal drugs

FOUR illegal drugs personalities, three of them arrested Nov. 4 in Victorias City including a twin brothers, will be charged Monday for maintaining and visiting a drug den in Barangay 7, Bacolod City.

To be charged are twins John Oliver and Vincent Oliver, all surnamed Sim; Ronilo Bones, 29, and Joseph Peroja, 29, said Noppo spokesperson Rico Santotome Jr.

Sim, Bones and Peroja were caught having engaged in a shabu-sniffing session inside the drug den maintained by the Sims, Santotome said. Vincent Oliver managed to evade the arrest.

Section 7 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 provides a penalty of imprisonment ranging from 12-20 years and a fine ranging from P100,000 to P500,000, Santotome cited.

A drug den maintainer, meanwhile, could face a penalty of life imprisonment and a fine ranging from P500,000 to P10 million if convicted as contained in Section 6 of the act, added Santotome.
