500 Manapla folks benefit from PCL medical mission

AROUND five hundred residents of barangay San Pablo in Manapla town benefited from the medical dental mission conducted by the Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL) and the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL)-Negros Occidental chapters recently.

PCL-Negros Occidental president, Board Member Raul Rivera and NMYL-Negros Occidental chapter president Roland de la Cruz headed the councilors who motored to the northern Negros town, the 5th beneficiary of said program.

Manapla Mayor Manolet Escalante and wife Lourdes together with the local Municipal Council members and San Pablo officials as well as the local police also assisted in the conduct of the activity.

Rivera said he is thankful to Negros Occidental Gov. Isidro Zayco and Vice Governor Dino Yulo for supporting the medical dental mission by providing the medicines and at the same dispatching the Provincial Health Office medical dental team headed by Dr. Ernell Tumimbang.

The PHO team was also complemented by the Manapla medical dental team in attending to the needs of the beneficiaries.

Rivera stressed that aside from the medical missions, programs and projects of the PCL and NMYL also include trainings and seminars to further enhance their knowledge especially in legislation and related activities.

By September, both organizations will have a sportsfest to strengthen camaraderie among the members.
