AROUND 400 board feet of abandoned Lawa-an lumber and other species of trees were recovered Thursday afternoon by elements of the Hinoba-an PNP at Barangay Asia.

Hinoba-an PNP Chief Robert Mansueto said the seized forest products were recovered in Sitio Bugtong, Barangay Asia but admitted they failed to make any arrest because the unidentified suspects scampered off to different directions after sensing the presence of police officers in the area.

Manuseto added the operation was jointly conducted by the local PNP together with the representatives from Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (Cenro)-Sipalay City and the municipal environment monitoring team headed by Ludovico Navilla and Joselito Juarez, respectively.

He said the recovered items were brought to the local police station for custody, pending their transfer to the Cenro office Sipalay City.
