Broadcaster suffers stroke

VETERAN broadcaster Joel Madalag suffered a stroke at the office of Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson at around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Madalag, a freelance broadcaster, was with his partner Rolly Baliguat that time.

His blood pressure shot up to 220/120. He was rushed to the Riverside Medical Center for immediate medication.

Sayson said that Madalag and Baliguat were outside his office waiting for their schedule to interview the vice mayor. However, some of the vice mayor's staff were surprised to see Madalag grimacing until he fell down.

They called Patrol 117 and other rescue volunteers but they later decided to bring Madalag to the hospital before the emergency rescuers arrived.

No official medical bulletin was released yet as to his actual state as of this posting Tuesday.
