NegOcc procurement depot named as top client-A A +A

THE Negros Occidental Procurement Service Depot was awarded Monday as top client by the Procurement Service (PS) after its total sales amounted to P74.53 million in 2013.
Fifth District Board Member Alain Gatuslao also witnessed the event held at the Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City.
The award was given by PS central office Executive Director Estanislao C. Granados Jr. and received by Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Procurement and Technical Services Division Head Mina Pellejo. The award was in time for Negros Occidental PS Depot’s 10th anniversary celebration.
The depot in Negros Occidental was the first in the Philippines that is being operated by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Procurement Service jointly with the local government unit (LGU).
The PS Depot in the province was established and inaugurated on March 29, 2004. In 10 years, it has served a total of 378 client-agencies generating total sales of P328.77 million from March 2004 to February 2014, with a net income of P10 million.
On June 6, 2002, the Provincial Government officially implemented the Electronic Procurement System by virtue of Memorandum 02-GOV-0026.
On the same year, the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental was cited by the World Bank as a “Showcase of LGU Good Practices and Innovations on Procurement” under its Country Procurement Review Program.
Other PS Depot Top Client Awardees were Bacolod City, second place; Bago City, third; Silay City, fourth; PhilHealth, fifth; Sagay City, sixth; Pag-ibig Fund Bacolod, seventh; Carlos Hilado Memorial State College-Talisay, eighth; San Carlos City, ninth; and Himamaylan City, 10th. (PR)
