THE Victorias Commercial Center (VCC) in Negros Occidental turns 17 Saturday, November 18, and various activities are being lined up for its anniversary celebration.
The activities this weekend include thanksgiving mass and parade of tenants with floats and muses; opening program; “sadsad”; Zumba dance; culmination night; awarding of the winners in the beautification and cleanliness group contest; weekly singing contest; macho gay contest surprise number; and recognition/citation of VCC tenants.
Acting City Administrator Dino Acuña said the anniversary celebration is one way of thanking the tenants and the buying public for their support to VCC, the public market run by the City Government.
There are also concerns on the regular payment of monthly rentals, still majority of the tenants are paying their rent religiously except for a very few ones, he said.
The City Government has been lenient on such concerns as others are also trying their best to comply with their obligation, he added.
Acuña said the City Government led by Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca continues to work on the improvement of the public market.
“We are also very keen and sensitive to the needs of our tenants to generally benefit our buying public. We listen to their needs, demands and concerns o tenants because our tenants really support our VCC. The city plans to repair the roofs of VCC. The maintenance demand also increase as the days go by,” he said.
